Riverside Lofts, located on the southern bank of Codorus Creek in downtown York PA, was originally built as a candy factory in 1914 for Classic Caramel. A candy factory in various guises operated on these premises for 80 years before closing in 2020 when the property was sold to Riverside Lofts LLC.

The property was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 2020 and redevelopment began in the latter months. This historic manufacturing facility has been transformed into a residential development of 51 industrial loft style apartments. Many original features of the buildings industrial past have been retained.

The apartments vary in size from efficient one bedroom units of approximately 600 square feet to spacious two story two bedroom units laid out over 1300 square feet.

Riverside Lofts is located on Codorus Creek, adjacent to the 21 mile long Heritage Rail Trail, and the Industrial and Agricultural Museum of York. It’s short walking distance from downtown York’s shops, boutiques, restaurants and the Central Market. York Hospital and York College are less than 5 minutes away. And it offers convenient access to Route 30 & I-83 for commuters to Lancaster, Baltimore and Harrisburg.
